Sideswipe members join the Britney Spear Circus tour!

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Sideswipe
members Brendon Huor, Seth Austin and Donald Mills will now join the Britney Spears Circus tour. Matt Mullins was hired to do choreography for a martial arts number and took the team in to help out. After 3 days of seeing them work the tour coordinators asked if the team would be willing to hire on for the entire tour. So with Luke Broadlick already on the tour Sideswipe and Sharkey's Karate now has 4 members touring with Britney. With the Vegas show being pushed back to August this is a perfect opportunity in the interim.

Good job guys!!!!!! You can see the guys in a town near you click the tour link below to see the tour schedule.

You may remember these guys from “America’s Got Talent," season two.
Check out the video from week nine! They were a part of the super talented group: Sideswipe led by Matt Mulllins. Matt Mullins, also star of the kid’s show on the CW, Kamen Rider.

Luke Broadlick a KICKgen member, and 6x US Open ISKA World Champion was the first signed on the Britney Spears Circus Tour from the Sideswipe Group.

Luke has been working hard at rehearsals since January 5th as they get ready to leave for their first stop in New Orleans, LA. on March 3. The tour will take them to 36 concert dates across United States and Canada along with 9 dates in London, England in June. Dates for the rest of the world tour have not been finalized yet.

Luke says “the show is going to be AMAZING and he is so thankful for this huge opportunity to be one of her 12 dancers/8 guys and 4 girls.”

tournament update

Monday, February 16, 2009

This past weekend, KICKgen attended The Space Coast Karate Championships promoted by Mike Smith & Murray Lamb and sanctioned by FAME 2K. Having attended hundreds of martial arts tournaments in the past, I feel qualified in saying… this is a good tournament. It is very well run by the FAME 2k guys. In fact, every FAME 2K tournament is run similarly making the experience predictable and consistent for competitors. That’s a big deal – competitors have enough to worry about and FAME 2K has done a very good job making their tournaments a better experience overall for competitors and spectators. I like those guys! To learn more about FAME 2K events: http://www.fame2k.com/

Who was there?
There were a bunch of noteworthy martial artists competing on Saturday including some very recognizable KICKgen members: Lauren Kearney, Ricky Morris, C-YA, Andrew Garr, Mikey Muniz, Elizabeth and Alesia Sipes, Becca Ross (there to say hi), and the entire Full Circle Team. Have you ever seen the Full Circle Team at a tournament? They’re rather impressive team and one I think we should keep watching. You can’t miss them with their bold yellow t-shirts. Coach Rich and Coach Mike (blue overalls and yellow t) also there running the team like pros. Thanks Coach Mike for the chocolates!

So did they throw tomatoes at me?
Nope no tomatoes! KG members have made it very clear that they’re a little ticked off that we changed the platform, but the folks I ran into were willing to talk about why we did this and where we’re headed. KICKgen members are the best!

How do you add your tournament news?
Be sure to send in your tournament updates and photos. We love to share updates with members! Next tournament for KG: Orlando Challenge - see you there!

Did you know there is a new martial arts channel launching soon? This channel is created by one of our own, Wally Faulkner. Here is a message from Wally.

Black and Blue Video along with Kickgen.com would like to invite all the members of Kickgen.com to participate in the pre-launch of Black and Blue Video's new ppv website, Martial Arts Channel. To get a preview go to http://www.martialarts-channel.com to join the list, or just send a blank email message to precisionstrike@aweber.com. That's it. You'll then receive some instructions as the time approaches. The purpose of the pre-launch is get feedback from you about any change we need to make before we open the channel to the public. Lee Barden and I, Wally Faulkner, have priced all the technique instructional video ppv at $1.00 as a way of saying thanks.
