The Beast from the East at Disney

The Beast from East, a traditional Kung Fu stylist, also competed at Disney this past weekend. She competed in the advanced 9 & 10 year old advanced forms and weapons divisions. She won gold in forms, and silver in weapons in addition to performing in the three star grand champion division. The response from Beastie: “It was hard work, fun and always great competing.” Keep your eye for the Beast from the East – we’re bound to see a lot of golds from her!

CYA at Disney Martial Arts Festival

CYA, a Tae Kwon Do stylist, finished first in his division of weapons at the Disney Martial Arts Festival this past weekend, and made it to grand! CYA loved being part of the tournament, playing around with his heroes such as Becca, Mackenzie, and Kyle and just having fun with them not to mention competing on the same stage. For an aspiring martial arts competitor, sharing the stage with these three is a huge deal. Who knows – maybe we will see CYA center stage very soon?

Disney's Martial Arts Festival - This weekend!

The ninth annual Disney's Martial Arts Festival combines the positive atmosphere of competition with the magic of the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort for competitors, spectators, families and volunteers. This event is open to both children and adults, from beginner to expert. Whether you are a competitor, family member or a fan there is something for you at Disney's Martial Arts Festival.

New KICKgen team member: Lauren Kearney!

Lauren Kearney joins the KICKgen team this week, as a lead in marketing and business development.

Lauren is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and is now working on her Masters in Business Administration. Lauren has been studying Kenpo Karate for 18 years and is a Second Degree Black Belt.

Currently, Lauren is a member of the esteemed Team Paul Mitchell, is the coach of the Premier Martial Arts National Karate Team and is the sport karate trainer and curriculum developer for Premier Martial Arts. Lauren also has instructional videos with Century Vision.

Lauren, a 24 time World Weapons and Forms Champion, recently won the ISKA world championship in forms at the 2007 US Open International competition. She was voted all around female for weapons and forms and has been inducted in many Halls Of Fame for Martial Artist of the Year. Lauren has appeared on ESPN2 for the last nine years and also on Cox Cable Network and various television stations around the country and in Europe.
